Our Misfit Mission

At some point in our life, we find ourselves unable to fit in. We are not alone in this journey and through healing and acceptance, we are able to find our place in the world.

This is my mission– to find a place where we all belong, without judgement or fear. This is where the creative infusion begins! This is our chance to start healing through creative expression and our unique voices. Here, no one is an outsider or an alien.

Our mission is:

Make thought-provoking content for children and our inner child.

Inspire, empower and educate others.

Support anyone in need of love, kindness and compassion.

Sensitive and spiritual values to help focus on inner development, reflection and personal power.

Inclusive and integrated space to build confidence and trust by building a creative community.

Objective, open and honest conversations about issues that really matter.

No boundaries or barriers to creativity.

Why do I want to do this?

As a child I suffered a lot of trauma and extensive bullying. I never felt as if I belonged anywhere- not at home, or in school or even in social groups, until I took charge of my trauma. I found refuge in stories, at first by reading, then eventually by making up my own. My mind was one place, I was able to build a safe, warm environment where I truly belonged and could be as authentic as possible. Having worked through my unresolved emotions and trauma, I finally freed myself from the clutches of my unresolved pain. With the help of therapy and creative expression, I accepted my fears and insecurities. Alas, I did matter and I did belong, maybe not in others perceptual reality, but in my own.

Little Mis-Fit is the product of my inner child who wants to shout with joy and help others in her wake. I believe by encouraging children to express themselves and use creativity to develop their interpersonal skills, I can make a difference in the world.

Misfit values: our promise is to help you heal in fun, experimental and the imaginative exploration of your inner self. In this way no one finds themselves isolated and alone.

Our purpose: to encourage and challenge children to be curious and conscious. To think and explore answers for themselves. In the hope they can trust their intuition and be centred within. Through our work, we want to inspire children to develop their gifts, so they can one day help others and the world.

Our Whu-Humanity- helping the planet: The intention is to think beyond only our own needs. For this reason, we will be planting trees with One Tree Planted as our way of offering gratitude to nature for its support. And to also replenish what is lost by making our books.

Our Whu-Humanity- helping others: We are looking to connect with others who share our vision and values in order to support a wider cause. A chance for our kingdom to extend its kindness and compassion to those who need it the most. We would like to work with communities working with children, especially those suffering from trauma, stress and other difficulties. We want to bring love and light to them.

Our Whu-Humanity- supporting the arts: One of our aims is to support young minds to creatively express themselves by providing a platform, where they can share their work. For anyone up to the age of 15.

You own the power to facilitate change.

Short term goals: Proactively and positively share our vision. Publish Little Mis-Fit and her follow up stories. Plant trees. Start building our community. Make “noise” about our mission to creatively heal.

Mid term goals: Officially set Nerdy Rose Press as a LLC. Spread our message with a wider audience. Build partnerships and have fun along the way. Get more children involved in our creative experiment. Give back to communities and the planet.

Long term goals: Publish stories and works by children as a way to honour their gifts and talents. Write more books.

I hope this clarifies my purpose and passion. I have been honest and transparent about my dreams and desires.

I would be grateful if you could support my cause. Please feel free to send a message to nerdyrosepress@outlook.com if you want to know more or get involved.

Watch this space …. Little Mis-Fit is coming soon!

Thank you
